Our client is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join their expanding team. What You'll Be Doing

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Project Manager, Site Superintendent, and project team throughout all phases of construction.
  • Collaborating closely with field teams to promote clear communication and efficient project execution.
  • Identifying potential project issues and working proactively with the team to develop effective solutions.
  • Mentoring Project Coordinators and supporting the development of junior team members.
  • Managing the Request for Information (RFI) process.
  • Reviewing, coordinating, and processing project submittals.
  • Pricing, preparing, and managing change orders.
  • Preparing complete tender packages and scopes of work.
  • Analyzing bids, validating quotations, and reviewing project costs.
  • Preparing and administering subcontract agreements and supporting documentation.
  • Assisting with contract negotiations prior to project award.
  • Chairing regular site meetings and distributing meeting minutes.
  • Managing project deficiency lists and ensuring timely completion.
  • Monitoring subcontractor performance and project schedules while communicating any concerns to the project team.
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of construction project experience or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Engineering degree or technical diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, project financials, and project administration.
  • Solid knowledge of architectural and civil construction, with a working understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Procore, Textura, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project is considered a strong asset.
