Sales Respresentative

This sales position is directly responsible for the province of Ontario. Primary sales are directed toward established PVF (Pipe, Valve, and Fitting) distributors and contractors within the territory. Our client sells through distribution channels but ongoing contact with end users is a priority. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Administer and develop sales in the assigned territory
  • Call product end users including wholesale distributors, promote new and existing product lines and develop a favorable specification position
  • Engage consulting engineers to specify products and demonstrate features and benefits through product presentations
  • 50% of the time will be working with mechanical and fire protection contractors to push the product through distribution channels
  • Provide full service to established distributor network including quotes, product training, technical and literature support, product complaints, inventory maintenance, and delivery issues
  • Perform product training for end users and distributors to promote product benefits and improve specification position
  • Develop cooperative relationships with key distributors and end-user personnel to enhance product demand
  • Establish sales targets and specification targets to meet the company's sales budget.
  • Identify significant bidding opportunities and provide comprehensive project information including pricing strategy
  • Provide after-sales service, including warranty and claims management.
  • Participate effectively in professional activities to promote Anvil products.
  • Continuously update the end-user database for the territory
  • Provide monthly reports, sales forecasts, and market overviews to  NSM
Required experience: 
  • A minimum of five (5) years of outside sales experience in the PVF industry or related field (construction, piping, etc.).
  • PVF experience appealing to wholesale level as well as head office 
  • Experience with mechanical and fire protection contractors will be an asset
  • Requires strong analytical and cross-sector multi-tasking skills
  • Must demonstrate good judgment, decision making and ability to plan and achieve required objectives
  • Valid driver's license with no major violations.
  • Intermediate computer experience with particular proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint programs as well as CRM platforms
  • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Comfortable with public speaking engagements and the ability to present to large groups 
Desired degrees: 
  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in a business, engineering or communications-related field, or a 3-year college degree is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude is an added advantage.
Main working days will be Monday to Friday; hours of work vary based on client hours and may require evening travel as required. Evening client meetings and/or entertainment may be required during business trips. This position operates from a home office.
