Sales Engineer

Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta
 
The Technical Sales Engineer works with owners, engineers, and contractors to develop and influence product specifications. Their goal is to grow market share, increase profitability, and strengthen the value of the assigned product portfolio.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Management
  • Help account managers by removing roadblocks and promoting product acceptance and technical specs in bids with key stakeholders (industry, government, engineers, and customers).
  • Identify opportunities for new products, markets, and sales channels.
  • Manage the full product life cycle—from evaluation and launch to training and technical support.
Sales
  • Support regional account teams with product, application, and market insights to strengthen our competitive edge.
  • Deliver presentations to build relationships and influence product acceptance and specifications.
  • Represent the company at industry events to promote products, network, and gather market intelligence.
  • Monitor market trends and competitors to spot opportunities and threats.
  • Collaborate with account managers to win key deals and shape regional/national specifications that favor our products.
Business Development
  • Supports account managers by recommending products using technical expertise and industry insights.
  • Helps plan and lead educational webinars, seminars, and technical sessions.
Prepares and delivers technical presentations to key decision-makers to support Qualifications
  • 10+ years of product management experience, ideally in civil or geotechnical engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering, construction technology, and industry practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong teamwork skills.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Office-based role with regular travel to client sites, job locations, and industry events.
  • Air travel required based on regional and client needs, as well as occasional company meetings.
  • Standard work hours with flexibility as needed.
