Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the Procurement Manager, HVAC, Import and Commodity is responsible for the overall management and performance of a set of commodities and vendors to support the business.
Description
Meet and exceed assigned performance goals, including cost savings, working capital, and efficiency improvements in order to support department goals.
Perform strategic sourcing activities, including data collection and review, market and vendor evaluation, contract negotiation and execution, monitoring compliance and performance.
Conduct supplier proposal analysis, negotiations, awards, and implementations.
Monitor and manage supplier performance and keep Operations abreast of potential supply chain risks. · Manage interactions between internal groups (Operations, Transportation, Materials Management, etc.) for efficient and timely ordering and delivery of goods and services.
Support teams in conducting negotiations with financial/bid analysis.
Attend conferences, forums, demonstrations and exhibits to maintain professional competence and to keep current with technical literature
Constantly sourcing and evaluating new innovative suppliers’ abilities and capacities within assigned commodities
Occasional travel domestically and internationally, may be required
Qualifications
Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related fields
SCMP designation or equivalent is a strong asset
7-10 years of experience in a procurement function, at least 5 years in strategic roles (sourcing, commodities, vendor managemen
Working knowledge of commodity management is a must
Proficient knowledge of contract negotiations
Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Windows environment
