DESCRIPTION As the Health & Safety Administrator you will work alongside the Health & Safety Coordinator as the designated health and safety representative responsible for promoting awareness, prevention, and training. This position interprets health & safety legislation and makes recommendations to ensure compliance and due diligence by all employees and on-site personnel. RESPONSIBILITIES
General Administration
Ensure trades are submitting their daily and weekly paperwork.
Manage inventory for health and safety supplies
Plan for heat and/or cold stress
Ensuring COVID-19 Management Plan is being implemented on site
Maintain and update training matrix
Ensure trades are compliant.
Attend and participate in site JHSC meetings, prepare meeting agendas, record meeting minutes, and prepare for distribution as directed.
Ensure head count is updated daily.
Monitor modified duties.
Conduct weekly site inspections.
Maintain and update Safety board, signage, posters etc.
Inspect and maintain first aid kits.
Conduct Site specific orientations to all trades and visitors.
Track and monitor permits such as hot work, confined space entry etc.
Conduct weekly toolbox talks.
Ensure company rules are being followed and enforced.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree or Certificate in Health & Safety, or similar
Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in similar role.
Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation in the Construction industry.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Strong communication skills, oral and written.
Strong problem solving skills.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
Must possess a vehicle and valid driver’s license to travel between the office and sites.
CPR/First Aid Certification and Working with Heights Certification is an asset
